What is the difference between Illume Premium Mask and Illume Gold Mask?
Illume's Premium Mask uses near-infrared ray (NIR) and LED technology studied by NASA and used by medical institutions for its unique healing effects. The Premium Mask also covers skin from the face to neck.
The Premium Mask is one of only a few products on the market that has Near Infrared Ray (NIR) technology as well as LED red light , which is more common. NIR wavelengths of up to 850NM are used, which penetrate more deeply into the skin than red light, including connective tissue and bone.
The Gold Mask has five colours vs three from the Premium Mask. The unique colours help target different skin concerns.
How does LED light therapy work?
LED (Light Emitting Diode) delivers optimised light at a specific wavelength to stimulate the creation of collagen and elastin, eliminate collagenase (the enzyme responsible for ageing), increase blood flow and achieve a rejuvenated, radiant and healthy appearance.
LED-based beauty devices have hundreds of bulbs that generate red, blue and near-infrared light. The LED lights radiate your face to solve your skincare issues, including dead skin cell reduction, skin pore improvement, anti-wrinkle and skin soothing in just a matter of minutes.
Is LED light therapy safe?
LED light therapy is a safe, relatively risk-free treatment. If you’re thinking about buying an at-home mask or device, be sure it’s marked “FDA approved”. Also, wear eye protection, such as sunglasses or goggles, and carefully follow instructions to confirm you’re using the device correctly.
Illume Mask devices and masks are FDA Approved and, while the Gold Mask has gaps for your eyes, the Premium Mask has in-built goggles for the safety of your eyes.
Is LED light bad for skin?
Light-emitted diode (LED)-based devices represent the emerging and safest tool for the treatment of many conditions such as skin inflammatory conditions, ageing, and disorders linked to hair growth". This is taken from one of the many studies showing the benefits of LED treatment on skin.
There is no evidence that LED is harmful towards your skin, however always follow the instructions and do not use longer than the recommended time.
What is near-infrared ray (NIR) technology?
NIR light therapy is similar to red light therapy, except infrared energy is invisible, and it reaches even deeper into the body — into soft tissues, muscles, joints, and bone. The key characteristic of NIR lights is its ability to penetrate not only deep layers of the skin, but also your body’s muscles and other tissues, and even down to the bone. Infrared light is also incredibly safe, non-invasive, and painless with no known side effects.
How long and how often should you wear your mask?
When first using your mask, use for 10 minutes. Use once a day 5-6 days a week. After two weeks, slowly build up to 20 minutes at a time.
How long does my mask last?
Our masks are meant to last a lifetime. LED light therapy is beneficial for your skin, no matter your age. As you get older, LED light therapy will be more beneficial for enhancing collagen production and tackling wrinkles and lines.

I am not in love with my order, can it be returned? What if there is an issue?
We offer a 100 % money back guarantee, if the product is defective or damaged, with a 6 month warranty included. If for whatever reason you are not happy with your purchase, you have 14 days to return your device. You will be eligible for a full refund if the item is new and unused, with all the original accessories and packaging.
Once we have received the product we will refund the full amount of your original purchase. Please enter full name and order number on the returned parcels.
Please note: If you your package is on the way, you must wait for it to arrive and return it before receiving a refund.
Can I cancel my order?
You are able to cancel your order with no penalty! You must cancel your order before it ships. If the item is already sent please use our easy return system to get a full refund.
I have entered an incorrect address what do I do now?
If you have miss spelled or auto filled in an incorrect address, simply reply to your order conformation email and confirm. Once you double check if the address given is wrong kindly notify us via email at support@illumemask.com. If the given address is wrong we can change the address to the correct one within 24 hours. No refund will be given after the 24 hours of incorrect submission.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times vary as we do ship worldwide. The average shipping time is 2-5 days; shipped within 48 hours of order.
